Clearing last-minute hiccups with Vijayakanth, AIADMK general secretary Jayalal-ithaa released her “revised” list of 160 candidates Mon-day. She will file her nomination papers at Srirangam Thursday and directed all party candidates to file their papers the same day.
Mr Vijayakanth too released his list of 41 candidates on Monday. He will contest from Rishiva-ndiyam, while his wife Premalatha will stand from Virugambakkam, a south Chennai suburb where they live. He sought one change in the list hammered out by emissaries in 20 hours of talks at Ms Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden bungalow, which was conceded by the AIADMK supremo, but rumours flew their alliance was again at risk — over Vijayakanth seeking four or five more seats of the 12 more in Jayalalithaa’s kitty after Vaiko quit.
