Akshay-John in for action-packed sequel

The sequel of Sajid Khan’s successful franchise Housefull will get a complete action makeover and for that makers have roped in the brawny duo of John Abraham and Akshay Kumar. Sources say that Housefull 2 will be a complete masala entertainer rather than a mere laugh riot and to give the film a rounded appeal, the makers are devising multiple action sequences that promise some never seen before stunts.
Akshay and John have been chosen to lead from the front because they have proven their mettle in action in the past. Riteish Deshmukh and Rahul Khanna, the other two actors in the original, won’t be left behind either. Both the actors have been asked to work on their fitness, as they too will have some punching and kicking to do.
A senior crew member, who is currently working with Sajid Khan, says, “Housefull was a hit but this time round we don’t want to restrict ourselves to only comedy. We are planning about seven action sequences in the sequel and they won’t be comical, a la Golmaal. Instead, there will be some serious action without any element of humour in them.”
However, director Sajid Khan is quick to clarify that despite the heavy-duty action, Housefull 2 won’t be a quintessential action flick. “It’s a successful franchise because it caters to a family audience. So the sequel too will have to retain that quality,” he said.
