Chief minister Sheila Dikshit, who divested senior minister Dr A.K. Walia of finance portfolio and has kept the department with her, on Thursday said that she was new to the department and is looking at various issues.
Talking to reporters, Ms Dikshit said in a lighter vein that “her domestic finance has always been in a mess”.
“I am new to finance department...I am looking at it,” said Ms Dikshit, adding that she was not going to spell out her priorities at this stage. “I will not say anything now. Wait for the Budget,” she said. However, she indicated that allocation for social sector may see a significant increase.
