Team India took a punch right on the chin as an elbow injury ruled out medium pacer Praveen Kumar from World Cup 2011.
The medium pacer, who was undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for an injury he sustained during the India-South Africa series, had earlier said that the rehab programme was on the right track.
His exit has left the WC doors wide open for S. Sreesanth, R. Vinay Kumar, Ishanth Sharma and Irfan Pathan.
According to reports, Sreesanth has been summoned to the National Cricket Academy for a fitness test so that the Board of Control for Cricket in India can apply for Praveen's replacement.
