‘I felt nervous working with my mom-in-law’

Akshay Kumar was really nervous sharing space with his mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia for the first time in Nikhil Advani’s Patiala House. Incidentally, Dimple is playing Akshay’s mom in the film while Rishi Kapoor essays the father’s role.
Akshay says that working with Dimple was amazing. “In the beginning I was feeling a bit nervous and strange. I was wondering what I was doing on the sets. I felt as if I was at home chatting with her as I normally do. It took me some time to realise that we were shooting together, and it had to be different,” he says.
“She plays my mom in the film so we had to be at ease with each other. But being my mom-in-law, she realised my predicament and put me at ease. We had never worked together earlier, but once we started shooting everything was normal. I came over my fear and tensions,” he adds.
