Aamir Khan may be riding the crest of the success wave, but insecurity does not spare even the most successful amongst us.
Ask Aamir if he ever feels insecurity and he confesses: “All the time.” The actor adds, “I feel I’m a worrier. I’m very worried about people who are close to me.” Ever
analytical, he has worked out the reason for this personality trait. He says, “My mom is similar to me. She constantly worries, ‘Where are the kids?’ ‘What time are they returning?’ etc. This quality of her has been passed on to me.”
Reminiscing about his childhood, the actor reveals, “Mom was so worried about us that she didn’t let us learn swimming. All four of us siblings don’t know how to swim because we weren’t allowed to enter the pool.”
While the perfectionist actor-director may still be a worrier, he has been able to surmount some of his worries. Ask the star if he has allowed his own kids to learn swimming and he smiles: “Yes, I have taught them swimming.”
