Armed robbers looted passengers of Garib Rath Express between Delhi and Ghaziabad on Friday. One person, who tried to resist the robbery attempt, was stabbed in the incident.
According to the railways police, the incident occurred in Delhi-Kishanganj (Bihar) Garib Rath Express on Friday evening between Anand Vihar and Ghaziabad railway stations. Armed robbers robbed `50,000 in cash from a trader.
When another trader, Rakesh tried to resist, he was stabbed. Even as he bled and the other passengers were terrorised into silence, the robbers got down after the train had crossed the Yamuna.
The incident came to light when the train reached Ghaziabad railway station around 10 pm and the victim Rakesh was rushed to hospital. His condition is reported to be stable.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the robbers may have had information about a couple of people moving with cash. It also seemed that the robbers had boarded the train at the terminal station itself and executed the robbery when the train reached near the bridge.
A case of dacoity has been registered by the railway police and further investigations are on.
Meanwhile, at least 20 people were injured when a bus turned turtle in Sector-48, Noida, late on Friday night. The condition of one of them was reported to be serious.
According to the Noida police, the incident occurred late Friday night when the bus carrying workers of a tractor parts manufacturing company in Noida, phase-2, turned turtle in Sector-48.
