Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission member Subhash Lalla submitted his resignation from MSHRC to state governor K. Sankaranarayanan at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Monday. Mr Lalla’s name had cropped up in the Adarsh Society scam. The governor accepted the resignation with immediate effect.
Mr Lalla said he was resigning voluntarily and that there is no feeling of guilt or wrongdoing associated with the decision. He said he had resigned for the sake of the dignity of MSHRC and to avoid further embarrassment to the government and to himself.
