“King of Pop” Michael Jackson’s glove and hat from his 1980s “Bad” tour wardrobe were sold for over $400,000 in an auction. The fedora from the Michael Jackson collection sold for $72,000 and a glove which reached $330,000 through Julien’s Auctions as part of their “Icons and Idols” sale in Beverly Hills on Saturday, Contactmusic reported.
A jacket signed the Thriller hitmaker, who died from acute Propofol intoxication aged 50 in June 2009, was sold for $96,000.
Over 100 items from Jackson’s life and career including a custom-made costume for his friend and companion Bubbles, the chimp, went under the hammer. Late Beatles legend John Lennon’s gold-braided military jacket, made famous in an iconic 1966 Life magazine photoshoot, reached $240,000, exceeding its estimated word of $150,000 and $200,000. An X-ray of Einstein’s brain went for $38,750, while a pair of screen legend Marilyn Monroe’s empty prescription bottles, sold for $18,750.

Depp turns graffiti artist in Venice
London: Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp showed his artistic skills by painting his famous “Jack Sparrow” character from the Pirates of the Caribbean series on a restaurant’s wall.
Depp shot his upcoming film The Tourist with Angelina Jolie in Venice for three months and was a regular visitor at the Italian restaurant, the Daily Mail reported. “I even let him do a self portrait on the ceiling of the pizzeria and he signed it, we have a great picture of him standing on a step ladder painting it,” restaurant owner Cristiano Vitale said.
“With Depp’s self portrait on the ceiling that’s one Venice pizzeria he can certainly call his own,” he added. The actor also experimented behind the bar mixing cocktails. “Johnny was the life and soul of the party and he treated us like we were part of his family, we had some great nights in the bar and he brought his wife and children in for dinner a couple of time,” said the owner.
