Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the visit of French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni to this historical town. The French first couple are scheduled to arrive here by a special plane at four this evening.
From the Kheria Airport, they will be taken straight to Agra's Amar Vilas hotel, situated one km east of the Taj Mahal. The entire route leading to the hotel will be cleared of traffic, with policemen manning the stretch.
The couple are scheduled to pay a visit to the Taj Mahal at around 10 am tomorrow and travel by road to Fatehpur Sikri, 37 km away. Vehicles will be stopped on both sides of the Agra-Jaipur Highway when the visiting first couple will be travelling and returning from Fatehpur Sikri. Mr Sarkozy and his wife will then head straight for the airport to reach New Delhi.
