As the reluctant CBI on Wednesday conceded in the Supreme Court that it has no problem in monitoring of the investigation into the 2G spectrum scam case by the top court, a judge in a bench seized of the matter made a sensational revelation that he received an “anonymous” nasty letter stating the judges had been “managed”.
“An anonymous letter came to us... I ignored it and threw it in the dust bin... the allegations are that we have been managed,” Justice A.K. Ganguly hearing the case with justice G.S. Singhvi in a division bench revealed in the open court.
Stating that judges often receive such anonymous letters in the course of hearing in the important cases, which were given no credence, Justice Ganguly said he was making the reference of the letter because it later came on record through registry in an “office report” of the Supreme Court.
Justice Singhvi, heading the bench said “we are sailing in the same boat”, apparently indicating that the insinuation in the letter were aimed at both the judges. The letter has been sent “gentleman” from South, the court said.
The letter was shown to a battery of senior advocates appearing in the case.

Land scam: Orissa House stalled again

Nov. 24: The business of the Orissa Legislative Assembly was stalled for the second consecutive day on Wednesday as the Opposition persisted its demand for resignation of chief minister Naveen Patnaik over the “fraud” committed in land acquisition for the proposed Vedanta University project at Puri.
The House was adjourned for the day after transacting Question Hour business for only 16 minutes.
The Business Advisory Committee of the House also failed to end the impasse as the Opposition members did not budge.
