Some top Commonwealth Games organising committee officials now attending the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, have reportedly been summoned back to India by the government, possibly for questioning, following revelations by two top aides of OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi now under arrest.
Mr Kalmadi, incidentally, is among the OC officials now in China.
Sources said the arrested officials, T.S. Darbari and Sanjay Mohindroo, reportedly told the CBI of the way most CWG contracts were awarded. They are learnt to have said top OC officials were involved in setting the terms and conditions for contracts in collusion with some foreign players.
Following the government’s missive, a few top OC officials are likely to return to India by Wednesday.
