Chief Judicial Magistrate Ratan Lal on Tuesday committed to the sessions court for trial the Ajmer Dargah blast case, in which three persons were killed and 15 others injured in 2007.
The next hearing is scheduled in the court of the district judge on November 2, prosecution sources said. An 806-page chargesheet was filed by the Rajasthan ATS before the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate here on October 22 against five accused — Devendra Gupta, allegedly linked to radical Hindu group Abhinav Bharat, Lokesh Sharma and Chander Shekhar Lave (both in judicial custody), Sandeep Dange and Ramji Kalsangre (both absconding).
They have been charged with various sections of the IPC, including 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (conspiracy) and 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship).
Another accused Sunil Joshi died during the course of investigation, according to ATS officer Satyendra Singh who filed the charge sheet. The prosecution has cited 133 witnesses.
