Anil Ambani Group firm Reliance Power on Sunday said it has awarded a `10,000 crore equipment order to GE Energy India for the expansion of its 2,400-MW gas-based power project at Samalkot, in Andhra Pradesh. GE will supply six frame 9FA gas turbines, 3 D-11 steam turbines and generators for the power project under the contract, Reliance Power said in a statement. Reliance Power has also signed a 15-year contractual service agreement under which GE will provide maintenance services for the power project, it added. “The order entails a project outlay of `10,000 crore and is the largest order for GE Energy in India,” Reliance Power said.
