The Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has decided to distance itself from the initiative for an out-of-court settlement on the Ayodhya issue.
Mahasabha state chief Kamlesh Tiwari said on Saturday he had cancelled his scheduled meeting with Mahant Bhaskar Das of Nirmohi Akhara following the Akhara’s r
eadiness for a settlement. “We will file an appeal in the apex court for complete ownership of the disputed land in Ayodhya to Nirmohi Akhara. The Mah-asabha will also plead that the Akhara should be given the right to perform puja at the makeshift temple,” he said.
