Pakistan chef de mission, S.M. Esha, has filed a complaint with the Delhi police on Friday stating that `25,000 kept in his jacket were stolen from his room at a residential tower in Games Village where more than 7,000 delegates and athletes from 71 nations are staying.
Mr Esha, who is staying at Games Village in east Delhi with Pakistani delegation and players stated in his complaint to Delhi police that he left his room for breakfast at around 10 am on Friday, “At around 11 am, when I came back to the room, I found the `25,000 kept in my jacket missing,” the complaint stated.
Sources revealed that the room door was not locked properly. The incident came to notice at around 2 pm after the police received complaint at the Games Village police station.
“A case under Section 380 of IPC was registered after a complaint was received,” Delhi police spokesperson, Rajan Bhagat said. A complaint has been forwarded to Organising Committee as well.
The total number of cases registered at the Games Village police station has gone up to four in the last four days.

Court slaps `25,000 cost on petitioner

Oct. 8: Justice S. Muralidhar of the Delhi high court slapped a cost of `25,000 on a man, who concealed his actual date of birth during the issuance of his passport.
Dismissing the petition of Shane Basil Laulman, the court said, “This petition is a gross abuse of the process of law. It is dismissed with cost of `25,000 which will be paid by the petitioner to Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee in two weeks.”
The petitioner had obtained the passport from Chennai in 2002 in which his date of birth is mentioned as February 25, 1970.
