Bengaluru taxi driver Shiva Kumar was on Friday sentenced for life by a court here for the rape and murder of Hewlett Packard (HP) India employee Pratibha Murthy five years ago.
Shiva Kumar was convicted for the gruesome crime on Wednesday. The shocking incident took place in the wee hours of December 13, 2005 when Pratibha, 28, was picked up by the accused from her house for the graveyard shift (late night duty) in the HP office in the electronics city, about 30 km from city centre.
