A speeding truck on Wednesday rammed into a crowded street, killing 10 people and injuring two others in China's eastern Fujian Province.
Eight people died instantly when the truck crashed into a group of villagers resting and chatting near a highway in the Xianfeng Village in Shouning County, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
Two others died in the hospital, a spokesman with the county government said. The two injured people are being treated at a local hospital, he said. The police and work safety authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, he said.
