The water level of Yamuna River has crossed the danger level due to incessant rains here in the last three days, forcing the government to evacuate people living in low-lying areas along its bank.
The river crossed the danger level of 204.83 metres on Friday evening and now it is flowing 11 cm above the danger mark, a senior official said.
Some families living in low-lying areas in east Delhi have been evacuated.
If required, relief camps will be set up to provide shelter to the affected people, the official said.
