The fashion capital will play host to a galaxy of stars who will be strutting the ramp for designers. This time it’ll be for the Blender’s Pride fashion tour where10 prominent designers of the country will be showcasing their creations.
So, if actress Mugdha Godse will be walking for designer Gavin Miguel, Chitrangda Singh will flaunt Neeta Lulla’s creation. Actor Vivek Oberoi will walk for Shantanu Nikhil and Arjun Rampal and his wife Meher are expected for Nandita Mahtani’s show.
Going by the buzz even bigges may make appearances in the three-day Delhi leg of the tour starting from today.
Does that imply that fashion is getting jazzed up by star presence? But designers explain that the glamour quotient is important and actually highlights their creations better.
Like designer duo Rahul & Gunjan, who have Shilpa Saklani as showstopper say, “She has a soft look and it goes well with the theme of our collection, ‘Metaphoric Jewels’. Shilpa is very fragile looking and truly depicts the jewels of the earth, which talk about the mood of a woman.”
For designer Mandira Wirk, ‘good friend’ Bollywood bombshell Malaika Arora will be a showstopper. “Firstly, Malaika is a very very dear friend. She symbolises style, elegance and femininity and portrays a good balance of being assertive but not provocative. She is both feminine and sexy which is what my collection is all about too. She is the one who can carry my collection with grace and therefore is the best choice for me,” she says.
Malaika who has walked for Mandira before adds, “I always walk for people, I identify with and whom I am friends with. I know that whatever they will showcase will make me look fabulous. I love Mandira’s silhouettes. It’s not only about walking the ramp for her, but I also wear her garments, personally. I trust her style and she knows my likes and dislikes and what will look good on me.”
