New Delhi, Aug. 3: Despite vehement denials by the Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit, that no funds were diverted from the special component plan (SCP) meant for the welfare of SCs towards CWG projects, the Housing Rights and Land Rights Network claimed on Tuesday that there was indeed diversion of funds to the tune of Rs 744.35 crore.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, the HRLN claimed that the RTI queries found that a total of Rs 677.36 crore was diverted from the SCP fund between 2006-07 and 2010-11. Also, another Rs 66.97 crore, which has not yet been accounted for, is understood to have been diverted towards Games work, taking the total to Rs 744.35 crore. However, Ms Dikshit refuted the allegations of diversion of SC funds.
