Four rape cases were reported from the city in the last 24 hours.
An autorickshaw driver allegedly kidnapped a nine-year-old girl from Seemapuri area and took her near Hindon river where he raped her.
The accused then hired another autorickshaw and told its driver to drop the girl at her home. The girl narrated the whole incident to the second auto driver who took her to the police station.
A senior police official said that the girl lives in UP and studies in a private school in Seemapuri area. “She often used to take autorickshaw for `5 to reach home. The accused took her near Hindon river where she was raped. The accused, identified as Om Prakash, has been arrested,” said the police official.
The second incident was reported from R.K. Puram area where a nine-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her 16-year-old neighbour. The police said that the juvenile has been apprehended.
“The accused had earlier molested the girl and the father had reported the matter to the police,” said a police source.
The third incident was reported from Kirti Nagar area where a four-year-old girl was raped allegedly by a 19-year-old youth on Sunday night.
The accused works as a carpenter. He was nabbed by the police.
The fourth incident also took place in Kirti Nagar area in which a 40-year-old woman who had gone to search her missing 14-year-old son was raped by a youth with the help of his associate. Both the accused, identified as Lallan and Hinamal, were arrested, the police said.
“They dragged the victim inside their shanty. One raped her while second assisted him,” said the police official.
