TV taught me to love myself, says Ridheema

Ridheema Tiwari is a popular face on TV having done shows like Rishto Se Badi Pratha, Sasural Genda Phool and Arranged Marriage ya Love Marriage. She is currently being seen as the lissome Rasika in Do Dil Ek Jaan.

The actress is excited about her latest show and says, “It’s an entirely different setup with the story beginning from Kashmir and then moving to Mumbai. It shows a huge contrast in cultures, lifestyles, outlooks and upbringing between Kashmiris and Mumbaiites. It also touches upon some sensitive Kashmiri issues. We are giving the viewers a taste of Mumbai bhelpuri with a Kashmir twist.”
Recalling her journey in the entertainment industry, the actress says, “Every actor feels lucky to be a part of the industry because very few of us have the opportunity to chase and fulfil our dreams. Very few get to do what they really love or are passionate about. Mine has been a rollercoaster ride. I didn’t get work easily and initially had to really struggle. I had never been to an acting school nor done any acting course. Everything about the camera was Greek and Latin but with time and constant effort, I kept learning and observing people around me. Till date I always learn something new everyday. This industry has made me more confident, gifted me the art of loving myself and also taught me to have patience.”
The actress admits that ultimately she does want to try her luck in Bollywood. “TV often boils down to a moneymaking business and most of us get bitten by the bug, so many of us with time lose the sheen and passion. Graduating to films is of course my dream too. I consider myself as a decently good-looking, confident person who is also, like other actors, looking for the right project and the right opportunity to be seen in films.”
