Telangana action shifts to Delhi

Hyderabad: Telangana and Seemandhra Congress leaders are both camping in Delhi, holding a series of meetings to work out their final strategies.
Telangana ministers, MLAs and MLCs met the Antony committee on Monday night. The Seemandhra leaders will meet the Antony committee on Tuesday.
Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is scheduled to go to Delhi on Tuesday morning, his first visit to the capital after the July 30 announcement on the formation of a separate Telangana state.
It is not clear whether the Chief Minister has been summoned to Delhi or is going on his own.
He is expected to meet the Antony committee separately and explain the political situation in the state, particularly in the Seemandhra region. He may also meet some AICC members.
The state ministers from Telangana who met the Antony committee on Monday night were Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, K. Jana Reddy, N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, B. Saraiah and several MLAs and MLCs.
They demanded that the Antony committee implement the CWC decision without any delay and opposed making Hyderabad a Union Territory or formation of Rayala Telangana state.
They said that they have no objection to making Hyderabad the joint capital for both states for 10 years.
Harikrishna opposes Telangana
Telugu Desam MP Nandamuri Harikrishna on Monday wrote an open letter on Telangana and alleged that his brother-in-law and party president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s mind was with Seemandhra. Harikrishna said he took the decision after spending sleepless nights and accused Congress president, Sonia Gandhi of playing demonic games and creating a rift among Telugus.
However, Telugu Desam MLA and Telangana TD Forum convener E. Dayakar Rao was quick to distance the party from the letter saying it was Harikrishna’s personal opinion and that the party stood by its decision on a separate Telangana state.
Naidu made it clear repeatedly that the Telugu Desam stood by its decision on Telangana but demanded justice for Seemandhra. Harikrishna letter titled "Atmavishkarana" ated ripples in political circles especially  in Telugu Desam, reflecting a widening gulf between him and the party leadership.
Accusing Congress of dividing Andhra Pradesh for narrow political ends, he pledged support to Samaikhya Andhra cause. The Telugu Desam Rajya Sabha MP, son of late N T Rama Rao, had already resigned his MP seat on August 4 to protest against the manner in which the state was being bifurcated yet attended the parliament session since it was yet to be accepted and created a ruckus.
"I am writing the letter on the basis of inner conscience. I respect the party's decision but I cannot keep quiet when the ruling Congress is trying to create a rift between Telugu people and society. I am responding to the call of conscience and lending my full support to the agitation to keep the state united. NTR's soul is hurt due to injustice to Telugus," he said.
Interestingly, the 'letter bomb'  released to media even as partypresident, N Chandrababu Naidu was interacting with Editors of TV channels at his residence this morning where he reportedly made it clear the party stood by its decision on Telangana but sought justice to other regions on various issues including revenue, water sharing, new capital.
"Telugus are suffering because of the thoughtless actions of the Congress leadership. I spent sleepless nights because the images of the Seemandhra agitation are haunting me. Taking NTR as my inspiration, I want to wholeheartedly support the cause of Samaikyandhra," Harikrishna said.
TD MP said when Telangana was announced he accepted the party decision with a heavy heart like a 'soldier' ever, he was hurt by Sonia Gandhi turning parliament into 'Maya Sabha'  acting as devil's advocate with evil designs and denied them to air the grievances of people of Seema Andhra region.
