Pakistan-born US based tycoon Shahid Khan buys Fulham

Egyptian billionaire Mohammed Al Fayed, who in 2010 sold luxury department store Harrods to the Qatari royal family, has now sold Premier League side Fulham Football Club to Pakistan-born American billionaire Shahid Khan.
Neither Al Fayed, who owned the club for 16 years, nor Fulham revealed the value of the financial transaction, but reports put the sale at between £150 million and £200 million. Al Fayed was said to have bought the club in 1997 for £30 million.
Top EPL clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City are all foreign-owned in the UK. Even Indian-born steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal has a stake in Queens Park Rangers.
Sixty-two-year-old Khan, also owns American NFL team Jacksonville Jaguars.
“I want to be clear, I do not view myself so much as the owner of Fulham, but a custodian of the club on behalf of its fans,“ Khan, who left Pakistan as a 16-year-old to study in the United States, said in a statement.
“My priority is to ensure the club and Craven Cottage each have a viable and sustainable EPL future that fans of present and future generations can be proud of.“
Khan plans to modernise the club stadium and increase the capacity to 30,000.
Al Fayed urged Khan not to remove the statue of Michael Jackson outside the Craven Cottage stadium which he erected in 2011.
