When did a wedding turn into a flash mob?

Earlier this month, when one over-enthusiastic Brit couple didn’t want to wait until after the ceremony to get their dancing shoes on — they started right in the middle of the wedding!

As the guests in the church watched in delight, Gary and Tracy Richardson started dancing to Everybody Dance Now, when the legendary song was played at full blast on the speakers at St. Mary’s and St. Martin’s Church in Blyth, England.
Following which, officiant Kate Bottley led the newlyweds, wedding party and many of the wedding guests in a choreographed flash mob that also included the classic disco song, Celebration.
The obvious inspiration for the act was the popular JK Wedding Dance that has become a YouTube cult video, and has been spoofed and paid tribute to several times — most memorably in an episode of The Office. The Jim-Pam wedding featured the motley crew of characters on the show dance to Chris Brown’s Forever which has further popularised the trend.
As reported by The Huffington Post, the flash mob was Bottley’s idea. The couple rehearsed the routine along with 28 friends and family members in the weeks leading up to the ceremony. Tracy even revealed to the Daily Mirror Sunday that though Bottley only halfheartedly suggested the flash mob, she and Gary didn’t hesitate to say yes instantly, as they were excited at the idea.
