‘Henry Cavill with a beard is everything that’s good about this world’ reads one tweet while another says ‘I love you so much, Henry! Marry me and I’ll give up my life to serve you 24/7!’ Actor Henry Cavill is the latest eye-candy for women across the world and we don’t blame the ladies for swooning over this absolutely gorgeous British man.
If you thought he looked ridiculously hot as Clark Kent/Superman, then how would you feel if you saw him play the 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey in the 50 Shades of Grey movie adaptation? With the release of Man of Steel, more and more fans are rooting for Cavill to play Grey. The actor’s been winning ‘who should be Christian Grey?’ polls and girls on Twittersphere.
“Cavill totally suits the role in terms of physical appearance — reddish brown hair, deep set eyes that say ‘come here’ even if he isn’t talking and a perfectly toned body. His name was being mentioned by fans before, but after the release of Man of Steel, a lot of people can relate to him as Grey,” says dancer Lakshmi Praveen.
Although, there has been no official confirmation from the author EL James or the producers, plenty of fan-made trailers featuring Cavill are being posted online. But this Superman has his share of competition — other favourites for the role include Ian Somerhalder (of The Vampire Dairies), Matt Bomer and Alex Pettyfer.
Matt Bomer, who plays a charming con-man on White Collar, is one of the top-picks to play Grey. “I always pictured Grey as someone who knows his stand in the world. Self-assured, charming, yet reserved and possessive, and most importantly super wild — Matt’s perfect for the role,” says actress Sruthi H. Adds Lakshmi, “Matt can surely pass off as the tycoon, but Cavill tops my list.” All Cavill fans out there — cross your fingers that Henry wears that silver-grey tie and goes ‘Laters, baby!’ on the big screen.
