He had announced the sequel of his super hit film Bodyguard soon after its release, but now it looks like producer Atul Agnihotri will have wait for longer to get his brother-in-law Salman Khan’s dates.
With Salman’s packed schedule for the year ahead, Atul is left with no choice but work on a film without Salman. There are loud whispers that the producer has put Bodyguard 2 on the backburner for now and is currently working on a political satire Oh Teri. Atul has roped in Pulkit Samrat and Sarah Jane Dias for the lead roles. “Making a sequel of a hit film means capitalising on its success. Commercially, it makes perfect sense. But with Mental, Kick and other assignments, Salman’s plate is full. In fact, there is no clarity on whether or not Salman will be able to do the next season of Bigg Boss this year. So Atul’s decision to go ahead with a small-budget, start-to-finish film is perfect,” says a source close to Salman. Also, since the film has a fresh cast of young actors, director Umesh Bisht isn’t worried about getting dates.
With Atul’s move, all accusations of Salman being partial to his family has been put to an end.
