‘It is too late to get back to television’

Though Vicky Donor actress, Yami Gautam is yet to make her second outing at the silver screen, her kitty is already full of multiple projects and she is finding it hard to make time for herself.

“There is hardly any time now. After Vicky Donor, I had been busy with my bilingual films and then I have Aman Ki Asha, a project by Neeraj Pandey. My next film Gouravam is releasing this week and we all are busy promoting that,” says Yami, who was recently in Delhi for India International Jewellery Week(IIJW), 2013.
Life is certainly moving on a fast track for Yami and she is keeping pace with it. “We had been shooting in London and have just come back. I am so jet lagged because ever since I have come back, I haven’t got time to rest even for one hour. There are social events, then my commitments, fashion events and the future projects; everything is keeping me so busy. This is what happens when you are in the business of showbiz,” she adds.
One of the actresses who made a noticeable switch from television to 70 mm, Yami says it was an unplanned and effortless move. “I do value this shift and every moment is worth it. Still, somewhere, I did not work very hard to make this transition. Early in my life, I had made a policy that whatever I’ll do should be content driven and I won’t pick up assignments just for the heck of it. I applied the same benchmark in TV and that is why I did Vicky Donor. Creativity can not be compromised,” shares Yami.
Busy with her next project, Aman Ki Asha, Yami says that people will see her in a different role. “It is a rom-com about a Punjabi girl and a Pakistani boy. Though I can’t share anything more about the project, but you’ll see me in a different role. We were shooting in minus 3 degrees out there. It was so cold that I fell unwell, still we continued with the shoot,” she says.
Already a known face of many brands, Yami walked the ramp for Rio Tinto at the IIJW. She feels being in showbiz has its own perks still nothing is permanent. “I am just the face of a brand, it is the buyers who are the owners at the end of the days,” she says .
On being asked if she would like to go back to television, the curvy actress responded, “I love watching television, but I live in the present and enjoy being a part of Bollywood industry. Though TV has given me a lot, and I cherish the experience, it is too late to go back to TV. And I feel I am not so talented to even judge any show,” says Yami.
