‘No reason at all for Kangy to be upset’

The buzz in Bollywood has, of late, been all about the alleged rift between Kangna Ranaut and Ekta Kapoor. Apparently, Kangna is none too happy about what she perceives as being sidelined in favour of Priyanka Chopra and Sunny Leone — both of whom have much-publicised item numbers in Shootout At Wadala.

While Ekta wasn’t available for comment, her brother (and Kangy’s co-star) Tusshar Kapoor took the chance to clear the air recently. He explained, “Kangna has no reason to feel insecure or to complain.”
Tusshar agreed that the two item numbers by PeeCee and Sunny have become synonymous with the film, and that there has been a fair bit of attention and feedback for those tracks. However, he added that Kangna was aware of the requirement for these two item numbers in the story — and that Bollywood actresses, other than herself, would be brought in to perform in them — all along.
“The idea was never to overshadow Kangna, who is incidentally, very much the heroine of the film. I see no reason why she should be upset. She was kept in the loop about Priyanka and Sunny’s item numbers,” Tusshar clarified.
