Brotherly Bonhomie in Bollywood

As next-gen breed of young actors with zero baggage make inroads into the industry, the concept of “bromancing” finds strong roots on the sets to ease off work pressure and free stars of their undue ego-hassles. The latest bud of brotherly bonhomie flowered between the dreamboats Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh during the shoot of Gunday in Kolkata.

While gossip-mills are rife with rumours of hostility amongst the male-duo, then the heroes themselves volunteer to torch all speculations. “Oh, we just love to hate each other. We can’t stand each other’s sight and presence,” they laugh, only to confirm in unison immediately, “we love hanging out, bird-watching, talking about girls. We get along like a house on fire. All credit goes to Ali (Gunday’s director Ali Abbas Zafar) who’s been instrumental in letting us come together so early in our career.” The camaraderie is visible as both the dudes are having a blast on the sets. “I’m in a happy space now and enjoying this experience very much,” chips in Arjun.
“Before this film happened, we have had always bumped into each other at different parties. Arjun has this ability to crack me up. He is blessed with an amazing sense of humour,” acknowledges Ranveer. “Take it from me folks, our romance is simply awesome and sizzling,” he guffaws. Post Ishqzaade’s success, Arjun looks all set and confident to come back with full vigour and vengeance. While Ricky Behl Ranveer sounds determined to waltz back into the tinselville. Playing small-time thugs turned into big-time mafias in Gunday, the two actors potray Bikram and Bala in the film who are self-proclaimed goons from Kolkata’s downtown streets. Flexing their brawns on camera, the hot-bods with facial crops comfortably slipped into their characters’ skins. When quizzed on their dose of gundagardi, Ranveer says, “Gundagardi is in our blood. It exudes naturally you see.” Humour apart, he adds, “The set-atmosphere is boisterous, rambunctious, noisy, lively and energetic to say the least.”
