If there’s one person who is basking in the success of I Hate Luv Storys, it is Brazilian beauty Bruna Abdullah. The actress, who plays a pivotal part in getting Sonam Kapoor and Imran Khan back together in the film, is excited about her venture. “All my friends are talking about nothing but about my presence in the movie. My boyfriend is happy for me too,” she says gleefully.
This is not the first time that the actress is being seen in a Bollywood movie. Bruna has already done a song for Anubhav Sinha’s Cash earlier but she says I Hate Luv Storys is the best thing that ever happened to her. “I have enjoyed every second. It was fun because we were all of the same age group. When I came on the sets, I was new but once I got to know all of them, we had fun. I didn’t know Punit had such great sense of humour. In fact people have been supporting me after seeing the movie. I wish all directors would watch the movie and write roles for me now,” she adds hopefully.
“When Punit came to me, I was taken by surprise. I was a little wary of Bollywood because I had heard good things and bad things but my agency updated me on Dharma Productions and I was sure they were making good films,” she reveals.
Just two films old and Bruna is ready to take on Bollywood movies. “I feel confident now,” she says. “I know there is a lot of competition here but I am ready to work hard. My Hindi lessons are going well, so I don’t have to be dubbed like my first film,” she adds.
But Bruna does miss her family here. “My parents are working and so is my sister. They can’t leave all that and come here but yes I am working hard so that I can give the best to my family. I miss them a lot.” Bruna has been a successful model so far but is not ready to give all that up for Bollywood. “I don’t think acting can change anything. I want to do everything simultaneously — modelling, my commercials, walking the ramp too,” she says.
