Ajay Devgn, who has stepped into yesteryear hero Jeetendra’s shoes in Sajid Khan’s remake of Himmatwala, is very kicked about his role in the film. The actor is determined to add his own special touch to the role so as to make it less predictable.
On Thursday morning, when the crew began filming the superhit song Naino Mein Sapna, Ajay was in his cheerful best. Speaking of the shoot, director Sajid Khan said, “The song is the film’s identity. I have briefed my sister Farah and the entire team to bring out its original essence.”
Sources tell us Ajay put on his dancing shoes with full gusto to pay the greatest tribute to Jeetendra. “For the last two days Ajay has been watching the old version of the song. Yes, he is nervous but also very excited,” says an insider.
In times when glitzy item numbers are ruling the roost, this number assures to be quite unique. Word has it that both Jeetendra and Sridevi, the original pair in the song, are equally eager to see the new version of the 70s hit. To live up to those standards may be unnerving.
Let’s hope Ajay’s nerves don’t come in between his steps.
