It seems ladies just can't live without vanity — whether it's on or off roads, for a survey has revealed that more than one in five women motorists admit they regularly use the rear-view mirror to check appearance.
And, some have even used it to apply beauty make-up while driving, according to the survey. And one in four says she has driven while wearing high-heel shoes.
Men, too, come in for criticism of their driving habits in research by insurance firm Churchill. Three per cent have had a shave while driving. And five per cent have changed clothes, the 'Daily Express' reported.
Claire Foster, a spokeswoman for Churchill, which polled 2,000 drivers, said: "Multi-tasking is a trait often associated with women but doing it behind the wheel is extremely hazardous.
"Women get a lot of bad press for their driving skill. However, men can be dangerously distracted too."
