Satish Kaushik’s Milenge Milenge maybe three years old but the director says that the script and the subject is as fresh as any new film today. “Everybody is saying that it’s an old film. I started shooting in 2005 and completed it in 2007. Yes, due to unforeseen circumstances we could not release the movie. But trust me it is a fresh film.”
Complimenting the lead pair, Satish goes on to say, “They are still young and have a huge following even today. I’m sure people will love to see them together.” The director is extremely confident about the end product. “The content is strong and fast-paced. And it’s a romantic story. What more does the audience want? When the distributors saw the movie they were surprised. In fact someone told me the other day that the movie should have been titled ‘surprise surprise’.”
For all the guffaws, Satish is nevertheless resorting to all kinds of promotional gimmicks. In addition to a promotional song. He says, “We are also promoting the film on Facebook and the response has been great. The song which has been shot by Kareena and Shahid, has been beautifully penned by Samir and tuned by Himesh.”
Satish has no complaints against his actors not promoting the film. “They can’t make time because they have already blocked their dates for shooting, with Kareena in Morocco and Shahid in Edinburgh. But let me tell you that Kareena looks adorable and Shahid looks just as he does in his father’s film Mausam. Both have worked hard and put their best foot forward. I am glad that everybody is supporting the film,” he says. But maintaining his optimistic stance, he says, “All said and done a good story is a good story and no matter how many folds are created in the business deals, it will do well. The film is based on destiny and I am sure destiny will play a big hand in its success. I have complete faith.” The director doesn’t have any films lined up for the future. “I have not signed any. I have been updating myself by watching films and reading books. I am all charged up to do something fiery now.”
