Jewels for a toothy smile

The fascination for a “sparkling smile” can’t get literal than this. Recently, dentist Dr Shushant Umre launched the ‘jewels for teeth’ treatment at his clinic in South-Ex II and demonstrated this technique on a few models, who volunteered for this procedure.

Speaking about teeth embellishment, Dr Umre mentioned that this procedure is slowly getting popular in our country. He says, “Dental jewellery comes in various colours, and it is a painless procedure. It can stay on the tooth from eight months to eight years, depending on how well you maintain it. It takes four to five minutes to get an acrylic plastic resin fitted in your tooth that twinkles like a gem. It can be removed anytime and the tooth can be polished back to its natural form.”
The dental jewels come in various shapes like heart, stars, and geometric designs. The tiny dental embellishment can be good style statement, opines model Sonalika Sahay, who got a shiny jewel fixed on her tooth. She says, “I think it’s really cool and it doesn’t take much time. There are various designs and patterns that one can choose from.”
