Three days after the killing of the Chadha brothers, the city police continues to grope in the dark for vital clues. Senior police officials on Tuesday blamed the doctors for messing up the post-mortem report of Ponty Chadha.
The forensic team, which reached the 42 DLF farmhouse on Monday to recreate the sequence of incidents, are still clueless on some of the most important questions pertaining to the shootout incident, like the presence of exact number of people at the time of the incident.
The fact that the bodies of the two brothers were found at a substantial distance does not corroborate Namdhari’s statement that Hardeep first shot dead Ponty, reacting to, which Namdhari’s PSO, Sachin Tyagi, shot at Hardeep in defence.
Being asked about the number of people present at the time of incident, the senior officials refused to comment saying that the investigation is underway. Sources claim that Hardeep fired from his pistol, but only two pistols, both belonging to Hardeep, were found from the crime scene. The police also await the ballistic reports to ascertain how many bullets were fired.
The Delhi police after the shootout approached the home ministry objecting to the security personnel of neighbouring states guarding many individuals who live in the national capital. Citing the killing of Ponty Chadha and his brother, the Delhi police said personnel of Punjab police and Uttarakhand police were present at the crime scene. Both Ponty and Hardeep were guarded by Punjab police and in his attempt to garb a farmhouse, Ponty was reportedly accompanied by Uttarakhand Minorities Commission chairman Sukhdev Namdhari and his PSO.
