Faced with desertions from his party and under attack by the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday hit back at his political rivals, launching a sca-thing counterattack at TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the Congress and the YSR Congress.

Reacting to Mr Rao’s claim that the TD was dead in Telangana region, Mr Naidu said, “Some people are saying the TD is dead in Telangana region. You will soon know which party will be dead in the region. Both the TRS and the YSRC will soon merge into the Congress. The Congress is playing a diabolic game.”

Speaking during his Vastunna Meekosam padayatra in Parigi of Ranga Reddy district, he alleged that the YSRC was luring MLAs and leaders from other political parties with special packages worth crores of rupees. “The TD would be the only party that would stand by the people,” Mr Naidu asserted.

Stating that a “useless” government was ruling the state, the TD chief said industries and companies were running away from the state due to instability and a corrupt Congress regime.

“No one is willing to invest or expand his business here due to the corruption. Congress leaders are looting the state. They have turned AP into the corruption capital of the country. People who voted Congress to power are caught in a whirlpool,” Mr Naidu said.
