‘B’wood never gives second chances’

Neetu Chandra is the first Bollywoord actor to win a Taekwondo second dan black belt. Talking about how it all started she says, “I was in first or second standard when my mother decided to enrol me for martial arts class.

I have never looked back since then. Hailing from Bihar where I have seen it all, it was but natural for my mother to put me in a class where I would learn to defend myself. Marital arts practice has not only helped me stay fit but it has also helped boost self confidence.”
The actor adds, “My mother is my pillar — without her support I wouldn’t be here. I am one of the only few actress to come from Bihar, and I am proud to be that.”
The dusky beauty is currently working in Ameer’s Adhi Bhagavan. Quiz her about the film and she says, “I am really fortunate to work on this film, Adhi Bhagavan will change the way people perceive me.”
For someone who has had a stint in Hollywood and tried her hand at Bollywood, Neetu picks her movies with care. “I have done a Hollywood film and a few Bollywood films — but I do not believe in doing films for the heck of it. That’s precisely why I am taking my time to venture into another Hindi film as B’wood doesn’t give you a second chance.”
Being the face of many products, Neetu also believes in giving it back to the society. “I am very actively involved in many social causes; I do it because it brings me happiness. Just smiling at them makes me feel happy and work even harder.”
“It’s only because of my talent and hard work that I have reached here. I want to be a global actress — language is not a barrier for me.” With over four movies that are all set to release, an ecstatic Neetu says, “I have movies like Adhi Baghavan, Home Sweet Home and Shooter lined up. I also have three more projects lined up, hope the audience enjoys them,” she concludes.
