October 8 was Gauri Khan’s birthday, and she spent it with her son Aryan in London. However, SRK’s wife is certainly not feeling the post-celebration glow. Her return to Mumbai on Tuesday morning was marred by an incident with the customs officials at the city’s international airport.
Witnesses spotted a harried-looking Gauri emerging from the airport. Apparently, she was detained by the customs officials, who questioned her for a few hours. “Gauri finally walked out of the airport without her baggage,” a source reported.
Gauri was accompanied by an assistant from SRK’s production company, Red Chillies. When questioned, he said, “It’s a case of mistaken identity. The customs wanted another woman, Gauri Shankar.”
But that still doesn’t answer why Gauri would leave without her luggage, and why her assistant would exit the airport nearly three hours after her. The latest we hear is that she has been asked to pay `1 lakh in customs duty.
