Four ministers in the Mayawati government will move the Allahabad high court to seek quashing of an FIR, ordered against them by a lower court, in connection with the publication of a objectionable article in a newspaper of which they are patrons.
The CJM court in Jaunpur had ordered on Saturday that a case be registered against the four ministers, namely, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, Babu Singh Khushwaha, Swami Prasad Maurya and Daddu Prasad. The court order came after a complaint moved by Jaunpur resident, Radhey Shyam Verma earlier this month. The petitioner drew the court’s attention to an article published in the journal that allegedly hurt Hindu sentiments. Mr Maurya said that the ministers had been framed in the case and they would seek redressal from the high court.
