His indepth style of acting and choice of unconventional roles has given actor Abhay Deol an edge over the rest in the Hindi film industry. Interestingly, the sartorial choices of this artiste were also noteworthy when he came to the capital to launch the first flagship store of British classic men’s wear brand Hackett London.
The actor, who was always seen sporting simple clothes at public appearances, gave his regular colour shade card a miss and donned slim-fit red trousers with a polka-dotted bow tie and a sleek waistcoat. Speaking about his attire, he said, “I usually like simple and casual clothes, but on dressy occasions, I like to throw in some colours. I never wore a bow tie before, but today I tried it on with red trousers and I feel it’s different and quite upbeat. My personal style sense is very subtle and I like to keep it classy and quirky as per my image.”
Abhay, who plays the role of a simpleton in director Prakash Jha’s next Chakravyuh, mentions that in real life too he likes to keep things plain and simple. The actor revealed that even though he is fond of high-end brands, he doesn’t like brands that make loud style statements. He says, “I like brands that have interesting yet comfortable way of styling. I don’t like the in-your-face fashion. I usually keep my personal style underplayed. I remember when I was in New York for a year, I got so obsessed with a black bowler hat that I would wear it everywhere I would go.”
