Calicut University Vice-Chancellor M Abdul Salam is awaiting the outcome of a revaluation before awarding the LLB degree certificate to his counterpart at Kalady Sree Sankara Sanskrit University, Dr J Prasad.
This is despite the Calicut varsity examination branch issuing a note backing Dr Prasad’s credentials.
A PIL by a suspended staffer of Kalady University, alleging foul play in Dr Prasad’s pass in 2006, is before the high court.
Dr Prasad applied for the certificate on the fast track mode a month back, armed with the original mark list and provisional degree certificate, issued by CU.
But Dr Salam in between ordered a revaluation. Although the Law degree certificate has nothing to do with the VC appointment, the row has embarrassed the academic community.
