Yuvraj Singh promised a great comeback, and going by how he performed on the field, the Indian cricketer did not disappoint. While his fans were waiting to see him play his first match post-recovery, Yuvraj too was eager to get on field.

“Getting very restless! Just few more hours to go hope it doesn’t rain in the evening !” Yuvraj tweeted a few hours before playing.
After a no-show on Saturday, Yuvi fans did not take a chance when it came to seeing him perform. Harish, an accountant at a Gurgaon firm, left his office early. “At 5 pm, I lied that I was unwell and left office. I wanted to see Yuvi back on the field and luckily, rains did not play spoilsport this time,” he said.
While Yuvi was facing team New Zealand in a T20 match, his twitter account was flooded with messages. One of Yuvraj’s close friends, Rannvijay Singha posted: “@YUVSTRONG12is bowling now!!!wat a feeling!!!” Sania Mirza added, “@YUVSTRONG12 Yuviiii :)what a fighter.. HE is back.. Enough said#RESPECT.” Actress Preity Zinta, who missed the match, did not miss wishing her IPL team’s former captain. “@YUVSTRONG12 Welcome Back YUVI ! Didn’t see much of the game but was happy 2 see u belting out a 4 ! Keep it up & lotza love :-) Ting !”
Cricket expert Ayaz Memon agrees that Yuvraj’s performance was much awaited. “Many were sceptical about Yuvi’s performance as they felt he is making it for sentimental reasons, but with his game, Yuvi has dispelled every apprehension. He bowled well; he batted well and even hit some nice shots.” he says.
