The Paravoor police probing the case in which a 22-year-old girl was trapped and molested by a blackmailing gang, has taken the three into custody in a bid to retrieve the gold and money and also the memory cards used in blackmailing the girl.
Sibin, 25, of Paravoor, Sherin, 33, of Munambam and Rajesh alias Kuttan Mani, 33, of Pattanam, will be in police custody for seven days. The cops had earlier submitted a petition before Kothamangalam chief judicial magistrate in a bid to obtain the production warrant for the three.
Police said the trio will also be quizzed to get more details about the two absconding men Rojo and Sajith. Cops had already released a lookout notice for Rojo. Police has also sought the help of cyber cell in tracking the mobile call history of Rojo and the trio. Cyber cops have been asked to examine Rojo’s laptop.
The girl, a nurse by profession, was tricked by Sibin who promised to marry her. He then molested her first and filmed it. He blackmailed her with the video and took Rs25,000 and 15 sovereigns of gold from her. Later, the other three molested her after blackmailing her. When things became unbearable, the girl told her parents and her father approached the police.
