[1]A day after the Delhi government’s transport department assured hikes in taxi and autorickshaw fares, the commuters in Delhi might also have to pay more for Blueline bus tickets.
Unions of Blueline bus owners have demanded revision of bus fares. The bus owners have written to the transport department for hike in the fares, confirmed a source in the transport department.
“The transport authorities are likely to take a decision on the demands of the Blueline bus drivers after the hikes in autorickshaw and taxis is sorted out,” said a highly placed source in the transport ministry under condition of anonymity.
The Delhi Government officials have confirmed that the Blueline owners met the transport minister on Friday and demanded a revision in bus fares. “They have demanded that the minimum fare should go up to Rs 6 from Rs 5, the Rs 10 ticket should be raised to Rs 12 and the maximum fare ought to be Rs 18, instead of Rs 15,” stated Delhi government officials.
Meanwhile the hike in the fares of auto rickshaws and taxis will be announced on Monday.
