The National Investigat-ion Agency (NIA) on Wednesday concluded arguments regarding the involvement of Wasim Akram Malik in the Delhi high court blast case, in which 17 people were killed and over 90 injured.
During the in-camera proceeding, district judge H.S. Sharma slated the date for order on framing charges for September 4.
The defence counsel had concluded argument on Tuesday but the NIA asked for time to classify certain things brought up in court on Wednesday in a very brief manner.
Malik, a student of unani medicine in Bangladesh, was earlier dubbed by the NIA as a “key-link” in the case.
On April 19, co-accused Amir Abbas Dev had showed his willingness before the court to turn approver in the case.
Besides, Amir Abbas Dev and co-accused Wasim Akram Malik, the other accused are Junaid Akram Malik and Shakir Hussain Seikh, alias Chota Hafiz, who are alleged to be members of banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen and are still absconding.
Another accused Amir Kamal was killed on August 7. The chargesheet was filed under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substances Act, besides those of the IPC dealing with murder, criminal conspiracy, waging war against the nation, attempt to murder, causing grievous hurt etc.
