The Lokayukta police have submitted an additional report justifying the B report it filed in the Upper Bhadra project case involving former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa. The court has posted the hearing in the case to Thursday. The Lokayukta police had filed the B report in January this year, stating that there is no case of quid pro quo in the complaint filed by Y.S.V. Datta. Special court judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao had sought clarifications from the investigating officer after the complainant filed objections.
The counsel for the complainant argued that Rs 63.27 crore was transferred to the Bhadra project account of RNS. Of this, Rs 40.28 crore was transferred to the company’s Bengaluru bank account and Rs 18 crore to another account in Bengaluru the same day. The money was transferred to Sahyadri Healthcare through a number of transactions, and Rs 10 crore of the same money to Dhavalagiri properties account. Both Sahyadri and Dhavalagiri are managed by Mr Yeddyurappa’s relatives.
The Lokayukta police said the money was shown as investment, while the agreement between the two companies mentions that they would share properties that will be acquired by Dhavalagiri. The Lokayukta investigating officer, DySP Girish, has submitted a 250-page report to substantiate the B report filed by the police earlier.
