A private complaint has been filed before the Lokayukta court alleging large-scale irregularities and encroachment of the ‘raja kaluve’ in Kodigehalli area. The complaint has named the chief secretary and others, including a housing society and private builder SBG Developers, as respondents.
Complainant Ramanjanappa, who is also a witness in the KIADB scam case, has not named the officials, but stated that the irregularities occurred between 1984 and 1996. The complaint has been filed against the Chief Secretary, Registrar of Co-operative Societies, BDA commissioner, NTI Housing Co-operative Society and SBG Developers.
According to the complaint the state government had acquired 173 acres of land in Kodigehalli, Kottihosahalli and Byatarayanapura area in favour of NTI Housing Co-operative Society to create a residential layout.
Later, the society wrote a letter to the Registrar of Co-operative Societies seeking permission to sell 10 acres of land. The registrar recommended the proposal and forwarded it to the government. Though there was no approval by the State government, the society sold 10 acres of land in Kodigehalli to SBG Developers for Rs 10 crore. The complainant stated that SBG Developers pledged the same property with Andhra Bank and raised a loan of Rs 75 crore.
The complainant also alleged that NTI Society also encroached 1.17 acre of land in ‘raja kaluve’ and sold the land. The Society also allegedly sold an additional 2 acres of land which was earmarked for a park. The Lokayukta special court will take up the complaint for hearing on Saturday.
