Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and his family members, including his two sons and son-in-law, are now free to leave Bengaluru with the high court on Tuesday relaxing one of the main conditions imposed on them while granting anticipatory bail on June 21. But according to the affidavit sworn in by all the four accused in the kickback case, they will appear before the CBI within 24 hours of the investigating agency seeking their presence. The CBI has asked the accused to inform it about their whereabouts before leaving Bengaluru, to issue notice for their presence whenever required.
All the four – Mr Yeddyurappa, his two sons B.Y. Raghavendra and B.Y. Vijayendra, and son-in-law Sohan Kumar – had moved an application seeking relaxation of the bail conditions, mainly against seeking prior permission before leaving Bengaluru. The high court granted bail to the former chief minister on June 21 and the SC on August 6 had rejected the CBI plea, seeking cancellation of anticipatory bail.
